The following treatments are generally considered to be first aid;
- Treatment of first degree burns
- Application of bandages
- Application of antiseptics during a first visit to medical personnel
- Removal of a foreign body from a wound if not complicated
- use of nonprescription medications or use of a single dose of prescription medication on a first visit for minor injury or discomfort
- Use of hot or cold compresses or heat therapy during a first visit to medical personnel
- Use of soaking therapy during an initial visit to medical personnel or in order to remove a bandage
