Supervisory Staff/Employee Responsibilities for Fire Safety

For the emergency response portion of the Fire Safety Plan to be effectively implemented, all
staff/employees must understand the important role they play in promoting fire safety in the
workplace. Everyone must adhere to the workplace fire safety practices and procedures.
Orientation training (when hired) shall be performed (and recorded) for all employees and should
include fire safety instructions on:
what to do upon discovery of fire - Call 911
what to do upon hearing an alarm of fire/evacuation notification
how to prevent or minimize fire hazards in the workplace
