Ensure that the fire alarm/evacuation notification procedure has been activated.
Notify the fire department of the emergency conditions; dial 911 and ask for the fire department. Never assume this has already been done.
Supervise the evacuation of the occupants. Emergency voice communication systems should be used where available.
Upon arrival of fire fighters, inform the officer regarding conditions in the building and co-ordinate the efforts of supervisory staff with those of the fire department.
Provide access and vital information to the fire department, (ie: master keys for suites, service rooms, elevators, etc.). Provide a name list of the occupants. When so informed, record and provide a current list of the locations of handicapped/special need persons to the fire department.
