LED RADIATION

LED based light sources do not emit any UV radiation (unless specifically designed for that particular purpose). Therefore, they are not harmful to people with a specific sensitivity for certain UV radiation and can bring relief to certain groups of patients. In this respect, LED based light sources provide advantages over traditional incandescent, halogen and Compact Fluorescent lamps.
More details
In contrast to most other light sources, e.g. halogen and incandescent lamps, LEDs hardly emit IR light (unless specifically designed to emit a certain type of IR). For available types of indoor light sources the IR radiation is not powerful enough to pose any risks to human.

LED BULB SAFETY

Optical safety refers to the prevention1 of hazards through optical radiation (electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths ranging from 100 nm to 1 mm). Effects on the eyes as well as the skin are considered, also for those people with a higher sensitivity. In response to the concerns raised by the last group, Annex 1 provides more detailed considerations for this specific group. Commonly discussed hazards affecting the eye are blue light hazard (BLH) and age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) which can be induced or aggravated by high intensity blue light.  When looking directly into a bright light source, a photochemical damage to the retina (blue light hazard) can occur, depending on the intensity involved and the time of exposure. People are familiar with this phenomenon from looking at the sun. To prevent retinal damages, appropriate spectacles must be worn when observing a solar eclipse, for instance. On a bright and sunny day, however, a natural reflex occurs (eyelid close reflex, aversion) that protects the eye from being harmed. Furthermore, UV

RECORDS OF TESTING AND INSPECTION

During periodic inspection it should be ensured during periodic inspection it should be ensured that the firm have carried out all the tests as per the frequency of STI and necessary records are maintained. In case same type appliance is manufactured with different brand names, separate records need not be maintained. In such a case a column for the brand name send introduce in the records It shall also be ensured that frequency of test is maintained for each type of appliance and sepret records shall be maintained as per STI

CALIBRATION OF GAS FLOW METER

1. Level the flow meter. Connect the flow meter outlet to a calibration bottle (air tight jar) full of water. Inlet of flow meter is open to atmosphere. The jar should have a stop cock for the release of water.
2. Ensure that all joints are sound
3. Initially remove a small quality of water to purge the system and allow the flow meter reading to come to rest.
4. Note the initial reading of the flow meter.
5. Now release 3 litres of water into a graduated jar and note the final reading of the flow meter. The volume shown by the flow meter should be equal to the volume of water released from the calibration bottle. If not so, adjust the level of distilled water in the flow meter. If volume shown by the flow water is more then put some water into flow meter and if less, then take out some water from the flow meter which should be equal to the difference in reading.

ORANGE FLAME ON GAS STOVE

Orange flame on gas stove
Sometime we may see orange flame on gas stove, what is the cause of Orange flame, how can we rectify it.

Possible cause: Due to dust particles or other foreign matter in to the burner
Solution: Clean the burner mixing tube thoroughly with brush and blow out with air.

YELLOW FLAME ON GAS STOVE

Yellow flame or yellow Tipped flame on gas stove

Possible cause: Lack of primary air. Gas injector jet drilling size too large, not drilled straight, its fitment, obstruction in mixing tube.

Remedy: a) Clean the burner mixing tube thoroughly, if blocked with dust. b) Check injector jet orifice drilling to make sure gas stream enters center of mixing tube. c) Check injector jet orifice diameter d) Gas injector jet orifice too close to the burner mixture throat – rectify. e) Check gas cock is mounted straight
